What Arwy does
Read, write, and meet someone on the same page.
Arwy is three things at once: a reading app you can make your own, a place to publish your own writing, and a way to meet the people reading what you're reading. Here's the whole of it.
Reading
A reader you can actually live in — Themes (including a true-black AMOLED mode), font family, text size, line alignment — set once and it follows you. Your position is saved per book, so picking up where you left off never involves hunting.
Text-to-speech — Any book can be listened to. The app reads in the book's own language, highlights the paragraph and word as it goes, and keeps playing in the background while your screen is off.
Translation — Translate a chapter into your language while you read. Useful for reading beyond your first language — and for learning one, since the original is always a tap away.
Offline downloads — Download a book and read it with no connection at all — on a plane, underground, or anywhere the signal gives up.
Notes on the exact line — Highlight a sentence and leave a comment or reaction right there. Other readers' notes appear in the same margin — but only for passages you've already reached, so nothing gets spoiled.
Writing
Publish in minutes, chapter by chapter — Write in a rich editor and publish one chapter at a time. Serialising means readers can start before you've finished — and a waiting reader finishes more books than motivation does.
AI spell-check — Catch typos and clumsy sentences without leaving the editor. It suggests; you decide. Nothing is changed without your approval.
You keep your rights — Your writing is yours. Arwy is granted only what it needs to display your work inside the app. No transfer of ownership, no exclusivity.
See where readers stop — Author statistics show how many people opened your book, how many started reading, and which chapter they most often stop at — the one thing you can never see yourself.
Meeting people
Match over the book you're both reading — As you read, Arwy surfaces other people currently in the same book. Swipe through suggestions, send a match request, and start talking. Shared taste is the icebreaker — you already have something to say.
Filters that respect the point — Set gender, age range and distance preferences. Both people's preferences are applied, not just yours.
A hard age barrier — Users under 18 are never matched with adults. No filter, setting or subscription can override this.
Chat, quotes and rooms — Message your matches, send a passage straight from a book you're reading, or join a chat room built around a specific title.
Collecting and discovering
Public libraries — Build shelves around a mood, a theme or a genre, and follow other people's. A library is a much better recommendation than an algorithm — it comes with a person attached.
A feed that isn't a slot machine — Posts from people you follow, books your friends are reading, new chapters from writers you follow. Chronological where it should be.
Search and discovery — Browse by genre, trending, new releases and highest rated — or search directly. Turkish spelling is handled properly, so 'i' finds 'İntibah'.
Everywhere, in your language
12 languages — The interface is available in English, Turkish, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Arabic, Japanese, Korean and Chinese.
Free at the core — Reading, writing, publishing, libraries and matching all work on the free plan. Paid tiers remove ads and add text-to-speech, translation, offline downloads, AI spell-check and higher daily match limits.
