ARWY TERMS OF USE

You accept these Terms of Use with a separate checkbox during sign-up. If you do not accept them, you cannot create an account or use the service.
1. ELIGIBILITY
1.1 You must be at least 13 years old to use ARWY. 1.2 If you are aged 13–17, you may use ARWY only with parental or legal guardian consent in jurisdictions where this is required. 1.3 You may not use ARWY if you are banned, suspended, or under sanctions that legally prohibit access. 1.4 Each user may operate one personal account. Multiple accounts may be terminated.
2. ACCOUNT AND SECURITY
2.1 You are responsible for the confidentiality of your password and all activity under your account. 2.2 We may require email or phone verification at any time. 2.3 You must keep your profile information truthful (especially your date of birth, which determines the minor/adult matching category and whether you can turn on sensitive content). 2.4 Account deletion is available at any time inside the app (Settings → Account) or via info@arwy.life.
3. ACCEPTABLE USE
You agree NOT to: - Post content that is illegal, infringing, defamatory, hateful, sexually explicit involving minors, threatening, or that promotes self-harm, terrorism, or violence - Share pornography or explicit sexual content (graphic depictions of sexual acts) in posts, comments or messages, even if it is marked 18+ - Harass, stalk, impersonate, or dox any other user - Send spam, mass-unsolicited messages, or unsolicited commercial content - Scrape, reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise extract data from ARWY beyond what is offered by official UI - Circumvent technical measures (rate limits, age barrier, subscription gates, App Check) - Use automated bots or scripts to interact with the service - Upload malware, viruses, or anything designed to disrupt the service - Engage in any conduct that violates applicable law or third-party rights
4. USER CONTENT
4.1 You retain full ownership of all content you create (books, chapters, comments, messages, quotes, profile data). 4.2 By posting content publicly on ARWY (status = "published"), you grant ARWY a limited, non-exclusive, revocable, worldwide license to display, store, transmit, and promote that content (a) within the ARWY platform, (b) on the public author and book pages of the arwy.life website, and (c) in promotional materials about ARWY itself (e.g., screenshots in app store listings). 4.3 These pages on arwy.life are public and may be indexed by search engines. The purpose is to make writers and their books discoverable. The full text of your book is not published on the web; only the title, cover, description, genre, rating, chapter titles and a short promotional excerpt are. The content of paid chapters and any draft is never published on the web. See Privacy Policy Section 6.2 for details. 4.4 This grant is limited to the ARWY platform and arwy.life. See the separate License Agreement for details. ARWY does NOT register, file, sell, or license your work to third parties outside the platform. 4.5 You may delete or unpublish your content at any time; doing so also removes the corresponding web page. You can request removal of your author page by writing to info@arwy.life. Removal from arwy.life is immediate; removal from search engine indexes may take several days to a few weeks and is outside ARWY's control. After deletion, ARWY retains content in backups for up to 30 days before purging. 4.6 You are solely responsible for the legality of your content. ARWY may remove content that violates these Terms or applicable law without prior notice. 4.7 Sensitive content (18+): If a post contains sensitive content (violence, strong language, disturbing themes, or sexuality that is implied but not explicit), it is your responsibility to mark it 18+ when you share it; for books and chapters, it is your responsibility to select the relevant content warnings. ARWY moderators may mark unmarked sensitive content as 18+, limit who can see it, or remove it. Explicit sexual content and pornography are not allowed anywhere on ARWY, even when marked 18+; such content is removed, and repeated violations may lead to suspension or termination of your account. 4.8 Private account and post audience: The private account and "Followers only" settings cover your posts only; your books, libraries, profile and follower lists remain public. People who can see your followers-only content may take screenshots or copy it in other ways, and ARWY cannot prevent this. See Privacy Policy Sections 6.4 and 6.5 for details.
5. SUBSCRIPTIONS AND IN-APP PURCHASES
5.1 ARWY offers Free, Plus, Premium, Elite, and Elite+ tiers. 5.2 Paid subscriptions are processed by Google Play Billing and renew automatically each month unless cancelled. 5.3 Cancellation is managed in your Google Play account, not inside ARWY. ARWY cannot cancel subscriptions on your behalf. 5.4 Refunds follow Google Play's refund policy. 5.5 Pricing is set in USD and converted to local currency by Google Play. Prices may change with at least 30 days' notice. 5.6 In-app receipts are validated server-side via the Google Play Developer API. Fraudulent or revoked purchases may result in immediate downgrade.
6. ADVERTISEMENTS
6.1 The Free tier displays advertisements served by Google AdMob. 6.2 Paid tiers (Plus and above) have NO advertisements. 6.3 Optional rewarded ads are available to all tiers (e.g., +1 extra match per rewarded ad watched, with no limit on how many you watch).
7. MATCHING SYSTEM
7.1 ARWY matches you with other readers of the same book. 7.2 Matching respects your filters (gender, age range, proximity) AND the other user's filters (mutual consent). 7.3 Minors (13–17) and adults (18+) are NEVER matched with each other under any circumstance. 7.4 You can disable matching anytime via the "Match Mood" switch.
8. MESSAGING AND TRANSLATION
8.1 Direct messages are private between participants and stored in our database. 8.2 If you tap "Translate" on a message, that message text is sent to Google Cloud Translation API (or the Google Translate free endpoint as a fallback) for translation. Translations are cached for up to 30 days. 8.3 Quotes you choose to send via "Share Quote" feature are transmitted to the recipient as a regular message.
9. SHARING TO THIRD-PARTY APPS
When you use the "Share Quote Card" feature, ARWY generates an image and hands it to your operating system's share sheet. Whatever app you choose (Instagram, WhatsApp, X, etc.) receives the image and is subject to its own terms. ARWY has no control over how those third parties handle the shared content.
10. AI FEATURES
10.1 The "AI Spell Check" button in the chapter editor (Elite+ tier) sends your chapter text to Google Vertex AI (Gemini) for grammar/spelling correction, or, if it does not respond, to Anthropic or OpenAI as a backup. 10.2 You confirm that you have the right to share that text with these providers for this purpose.
11. AUTHOR RESPONSIBILITY
11.1 You confirm that all books, chapters, and quotes you publish are your own original work, or that you have obtained all necessary rights. 11.2 ARWY accepts no liability for third-party IP claims regarding your content. The author is the sole respondent. 11.3 ARWY reserves the right to remove content following a verified DMCA-style takedown notice or equivalent legal demand.
12. AVAILABILITY AND CHANGES
12.1 We provide the service on an "as is" and "as available" basis. 12.2 We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time, with reasonable notice for material changes. 12.3 We may impose usage limits, rate limits, or quotas to protect service stability.
13. TERMINATION
13.1 You may terminate your account at any time via Settings → Account → Delete Account. 13.2 We may suspend or terminate your account for violations of these Terms, abuse, fraud, or as required by law. 13.3 Termination results in deletion of personal data within 30 days, except records we are legally required to retain.
14. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES
ARWY IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW.
15. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ARWY'S TOTAL LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO ARWY IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) USD 50.
NOTHING IN THESE TERMS LIMITS LIABILITY THAT CANNOT BE LIMITED UNDER MANDATORY LAW (E.G., GROSS NEGLIGENCE, INTENTIONAL HARM, OR CONSUMER PROTECTION RIGHTS).
16. INDEMNITY
You agree to indemnify and hold ARWY harmless from any third-party claim arising out of (a) your content, (b) your violation of these Terms, or (c) your violation of any law or third-party right.
17. GOVERNING LAW AND DISPUTES
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rights of your country of residence. Disputes shall be brought before the competent courts of Istanbul, Türkiye, unless mandatory consumer law provides otherwise.
18. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
We may update these Terms. Material changes are announced in-app (and by email where appropriate) and take effect on the date stated in the announcement. Continued use of ARWY after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
